Visiting family in Iowa

No, I'm not from Iowa, but my family lives there now.  They were living in LA, after the LA riots they started leaving. I stayed to finish school and never thought of leaving even thought they probably thought that was going to be my next step after graduation.


Going every year is like going into a time warp and a cultural shock.  I rested maybe too much, but I needed to recharge my batteries.  I'm OK now but I can only do 2 weeks of hot humid weather and Walmart.  "Iowa is pretty and there is plenty of clean air" is what my aunt tells me so I can move there.  No thank you, I like my lungs a little dark thank you.
