DIY Galaga Wedding Box for Cards

My friend asked me to make her a box for her wedding and to decorate it with images that her fiance liked.  He likes vintage video games.  One of those was Galaga. I loved Galaga growing up and I though that would be cool to do.  Also because it was the easiest, hahha!

I wasn't too thrilled with the big cardboard box, but I gave it a go.

Steps:

  1. I taped the box with duct tape.
  2. I primed it with black guesso (twice)
  3. I printed out images of the characters of the Galaga game
  4. On top of the box (look to see which side would be best for the top) draw where the hole for the cards will be.
  5. Cut out the rectangular opening for gift cards or wedding cards
  6. Traced around the  Galaga images with a pencil
  7. Draw in the pixels on the inside of the images.
  8. paint some white on the pixels before adding the light colors (like the yellow) to make them more vibrant
  9. match the colors of the video game characters as you prepare to paint the first color
  10. painted the images flat one color at a time( it takes 2-3 coats of paint)
  11. Done! Ready to partay!
